If you could be a champion in any sport, what sport would it be?
Surfing. I used to beg my parents to move to Hawaii so I could become a surfer girl. They refused, so I compromised and bought a Penny Board instead. Five minutes after leaving the store, I fell, the board flew into the road, and a truck completely obliterated it. So that is the story of how my surfing and skating dreams were crushed, literally. But the dream is still alive.
If you could solve one mystery, what would it be?
Where all my hair ties disappear to.
What do you admire most in people?
I admire people who have a positive outlook on life. I am drawn to doers, and to people who see challenges not as excuses, but as opportunities.
Who would you love to walk a runway show for?
Alexander McQueen.
What is the best Vogue cover of all time?
There are so many to choose from, but I would say the March 1966 British Vogue cover starring Donyale Luna. Not only is it visually stunning, but it also marked the first time an African American woman appeared on the cover, representing an important early step toward diversity in fashion.
